Respite Care

The gift of time for you

This service is available to people with a disability and the frail aged who are in stable health.

Respite Care is often referred to as the Gift of Time.
Respite for Carers and self-Carers is available.

As a family's individual respite needs and preferences vary, so do the range of options available. Respite can be for a few hours, a day, overnight or longer and may be arranged to be provided in or out of the family home.

Our services strive to maximise choice, respond to the individual needs of people with a disability, and promote the dignity and respect of our Consumer, their family and their Carers.

CSI Respite Care:

  • Is a service provided to Carers so they may have relief from their caring role and pursue other activities or interests.
  • It provides families and Carers with a temporary break from the constant responsibility of caring for a person with a disability
  • Is considered by many families as the most important source of support in sustaining the family unit.
  • Gives Carers and families a break from their daily routine, the opportunity to relax, revitalise and restore the personal resources necessary to resume their caring role.
  • Can also provide positive outcomes for the person with a disability by providing different experiences and the opportunity to develop new contacts and possibly a broader range of friendships.
