Aktion Club looking for new members

The Aktion Club is a community service group of people with an intellectual disability, ranging in age from 18 to 50 years old. Sponsored by the Kiwanis, they formed in 1994 and now meet at the Tea-Tree Gully Library on the first Wednesday of each month.

The Kiwanis would like to attract more members. The club gives its members a sense of belonging and is involved in some community activities, so it is a great opportunity to be part of a community volunteer organisation. The next meeting on Wednesday 6th June from 6:30-8pm will include the election of office bearers for the next year. Supper is provided by the Kiwanis and will cost $2. Community Support on behalf of the Kiwanis warmly invites all our clients to come along and be part of a great community group.

Disability SA presently provides a van for pick-ups and the driver is one of our support workers from Community Support. Spaces on the van are limited however and newer members are encouraged to come with parents or support workers.

Parents, carers, or anyone looking for more information can contact either Greg Anderson on 8265 2855 or Louise Paterson on 0411 848 153.
