MAD Pride Australasia is seeking performers for the 2018 MAD Pride Concert

This August MAD Pride Australasia will host a MAD Pride concert “Mad Minds Matter” as part of the TheMHS (The Mental Health Services) conference in Adelaide.

MAD Pride is the Movement Against Discrimination and a celebration of mad culture and the vibrant diversity of people with lived experiences of mental illness. Following a brilliant concert as part of last year’s TheMHS conference, MAD Pride are once again organising a concert to go hand-in-hand with one of Australia’s largest Mental Health conferences, and will be supported by WayAhead – Mental Health Association of NSW.

MAD Pride are seeking Expressions of interest from any performer who identifies as having lived experience of mental illness and/or mental ill-health, and who wants to be part of a celebration of MAD Pride. This is an opportunity to use your performing skills to actively challenge the stigma and discrimination around mental illness.

Acts can include musicians, comedians, spoken-word artists, cabaret, magicians, burlesque, circus, bands, choirs, ventriloquists – or anything else that fits the theme: “Mad Minds Matter”
