An in-depth course covering the very important anatomy and physiology of the bowel. It covers infection prevention & control, provision of bowel care interventions including the use of micro enemas. Most importantly, we cover proper hydration, nutrition for client outcome, and best practice of self-care for clients.
Key competencies include understanding of causes and potential causes of bowel disfunction, being able to assist participants with nutrition, hydration, exercise, and toileting routine to help prevent against bowel disfunction, along with other competencies.
